Xanadu

It's been raining and drizzly. I left the rain at the beginning of this week in Hong Kong and now I am being presented with more rain. So the wet day programme was an outing to Xanadu. You must be thinking Olivia Newton-John and Gene Kelly on roller skates. Here in Madrid it's a shopping centre with a ski slope. I didn't go skiing of course because I can't ski. Tried that when I was in Korea once and ended up sliding backwards when working my way up the baby slope and then couldn't stop myself with the pokey things and ended up crash landing after bumping into little kids. It would have won Korea's funniest home videos.

We had lunch at a tapas place and I had my first taste of blood sausage (it's those chocolate looking cupcakes in the photo on the right). The deep fried bechamel sauce with ham croquettes were delicious. It's blood and rice mixed together and then deep fried. I liked it. If you like pate you'll like it too. Then we did some shopping and went to the hipermercardo (like K-mart and Coles combined) but they sell huge legs of ham. Then went to IKEA again to buy a new pillow.

Photo of the Day
This is what Santa has for Christmas dinner! (They don't offer this at the IKEA in Hong Kong/OZ).
