Facebookless

Day 1

Facebook has provided me with a grace period of 14 days to change my mind about permanently deleting my account. There's just no going back. It's a good feeling to know that my presence is no longer felt online all the time and I have some of my privacy back even though I know that's not the absolute truth. I have deleted the fb link from firefox, the app from my iphone and the link on my work computer. I also cleared the cache so that there is no temptation to accidentally go back into history.

Day 2

Every time I read a news item that's interesting my natural instinct is that I want to share when I see the little fb icon. I'm not missing reading anyone's status updates or hitting the 'like' button. There is ironing to be done. I will defer until tomorrow.
