It's like a soap opera!

On my shuttle bus ride home this evening I learnt from Miss Wong (the driver with whom I have discussions about every thing under the moon within the 15 minutes bus ride home) that Albert Ho, the lawyer/politician who was battered at Maccas and who I posted in my blog of yesternight - is representing one Ms. Winnie Ho in a court case. Ms Ho, happens to be the younger sister of one Stanley Ho (a.k.a the unofficial monarch of Macao) in some family matters to do with casinos, no doubt. The siblings have been estranged ever since.

Anyway, according to the Apple Daily (only available in Chinese), Stanley Ho unknowingly (because he is getting senile in his old age and pictured above, standing in front of a McDonald's) answered some questions asked by reporters about whether or not he had knowledge about the bashing of Albert, and he gave answers which may lead to the finger being pointed at him or a member of his entourage as ordering hitmen to get rid of the lawyerly troublemaker!

Apparently Ms Ho's previous lawyer (as reported in The Age) had also been bashed by three men wielding clubs and batons. A likely coincidence? Hmmmm... Now this is all very intrigue-mont and could bring down a tycoon. Of course, everything I have written is second-hand heresay and I confess to have been watching a lot of Miss Marple of late.

One interesting note, I read in the South China Morning Post that Bus Uncle went to the hospital to visit Albert Ho but was denied access for obvious reasons, but was quoted as saying "Hong Kong has become a very violent place to live in!" Well hell yes - if we all have pressure!

You know, being an investigative reporter does have some appeal.
