gifts

Look what I got for Christmas! It's a cheshire grin of Totoro! I also got Mario Kart for my Ninetendo DS as well. I'm addicted because it's the first car racing game I've ever been good at. I also got the nice writing paper from my sister (just mentioning it in case she's reading) Thank you lovely people for the nice gifts and you know who you are.

this has no relation with your blog, once again. it's just that i got so excited when i saw that you had pedro almodovar's film under your 'recent popcorn viewing'. me think he's a great director. i just got hold of that dvd, planning to watch it soon. so was it any good? i also caught "an inconvenient truth" (hope i got the title correct) on my plane ride from melbourne. the facts were startling/insightful but i think i got "overwhelmed" by them that i switched channel after an hour or so.

I saw it yesterday with ninajwookie. We're doing a film festival of sorts over the holidays because so many new films are being released. Today we're going to see Marie Antoinette.

Volver was brilliantly crafted. I can't say it was my favourite Almodovar film but it is still quality. Volver is one you should watch with your mum or sister (if you have one). The colours are so vivid and the food is amazing. I recommend you have a plate of doughnuts on your coffee table when you watch it or some type of wafer biscuit. Trust me on this.

An Inconvenient Truth, I think was a film made by an American for Americans - to wake them up about how much they are contributing to global warming and as you already may know are the largest contributor who haven't signed the Kyoto Protocal (Australia of course gets a dishonourable mention). I think this film was necessary because many Americans still drive fossil fuel guzzlers and produce so much unnecessary waste. No surprises that Ford in Detroit is in dire straits. I don't want to be pointing my finger and concede we live in a global community and can't rely only on the US to do their part. It's too bad we can't isolate our part of the atmosphere from theirs like a "cone of silence" set up.

I really should write reviews of movies that I watch but that would be too much pressure and I usually go off on a tangent and rage and rant about the state of the world and the ignorance that goes with it. Not good for the readership.

i think a movie review by you is a good idea (even you run into the risk of going off the tangent).

i think you should write movie reviews and post them on your blog (even if you run into the risk of going off the tangent).
