I was just thinking on the mini bus home that tomorrow I would've been flying out to Queenstown, NZ. But alas, it was not to be. Anyway, I hope this is only a minor setback for The Todge.

Tomorrow I'm cleaning house. Not just cleaning. I mean really scrubbing for Chinese New Year. It's the spring clean but it feels like we're in the middle of a long winter at the moment. My fingers are freezing as I'm typing this for your enjoyment. I'm not suppose to clean for three days after CNY and that would drive me nuts. My father is going to cook the "El Grande Dinner Familia". I have no idea what language that is but it sounds huge doesn't it? Well, there is shark fin involved and we'll be eating it out of ramen bowls.

I bid farewell to a couple of students this week, my Korean banker students who left me to return to their homeland. Through them I've learnt a lot about the banking industry. I'm making good use of my acquaintance with the general manager of one of the big four banks in Korea and am trying to acquire a decent knowledge about the banking & finance, which has always been somewhat of an enigma to me. I'm not talking about garden variety retail banking - that I have plenty of experience in and it has been mostly negative. I'm talking about the world of bonds, funds, equity, capital markets and investment banking. By the end of my lesson with the GM, I was wondering if it would be too late for me to do an economics/banking & finance degree. Also, should I be paying him for the education and not vice-versa?

Random stuff

My jeans - Are they shrinking from the dryer or am I getting fatter? Anyway, I need to repurchase. Can you actually buy jeans that don't shrink? My work mates all claim that I am responsible for any weight they may have gained over the last four months. Hey, I've bought fruit as well. Not my fault if somehow my penchant for baked goods, snacks and chocolates has had snowball effect that entices others to feel for the munchies between 4-5pm. Well alright, let's be honest here - throughout the day.

I finally got some elevation for my laptop at work. It has done wonders for my neck and back pain. I don't know why it wasn't purchased earlier. Maybe it's because I wasn't spending all my in between class time writing the HKCEE exam guides, which lead me to suffer from the aforementioned pain. I may have to purchase one for the home. It even has a built in cooling fan!

Yes, I've taken to anointing all those who are very dear to me with their very own definite article. If the Queen can pass out Lordships/Ladyships and other honorifics, why can't I pass out definite articles?
