Guess what? Someone de-friended me on facebook. The nerve! I'm not denying that I'm a biggest hypocrite in the universe but who on earth would de-friend me? My self-imposed quota of 100 stated 99 when I logged on this fine evening. However, it didn't last long. It is now back up to 100 because I had someone on a waiting list. But do you know what the really really sad thing is? I can't work out who de-friended me. You see! It's hard to keep track even with 100 friends. I'm now thinking of culling my quota even further because I don't even know who is missing. And therefore, he or she will not be missed!
For those nitpickers out there, I'm well aware that "de-friended" is not a verb but it's in the urban dictionary and will eventually find its way into the Greater Oxford.

"De-friended" is a perfectly cromulent verb.
Hmmm, hopefully this situation will not escalate too far.... one innocent bout of de-friending could trigger other, more savage culls, perhaps driven by wounded pride?
You know, when the Daleks and the Time Lords engaged in ultimate battle (the Time Wars?), Doctor Who lost his entire species, except for his nemesis The Master (who he really loved like a brother, deep down, but only realised after The Master died too, in an unrelated incident). Sad!
Maybe the person who de-friended you closed their Facebook account?
I lost two friends last year on facebook, being obsessive I scoured for ages to find out who they were. I eventually realised it was two people I liked, but they'd just deleted their account. Happy Ending.

I mean really, who would want to de-friend me? I've already deleted people who could potentially de-friend me. I have no known enemies in the world but then who's to say I'm not like Dr Who?
