You know when...

it's been such a long time since you've last blogged that you've actually forgotten the account name to log into your blog.

Another Christmas gone and soon another year will be passing by. Let's evaluate 2007. What has been achieved and what hasn't been achieved?

Jan - in OZ spent watching the cricket and providing moral support to Mr T
Feb - Applied for job at HKU and became a research associate
Mar - Working from home, nice n' easy.
Apr - So much for only editing the material for the Conference!
May - Conference, HKU (in three words - a successful nightmare)
Jun - Spanish sausages and Scottish castles
Jul - In and around Madrid
Aug - Gaudi in Barcelona and macaroons in Paris
Sept - Return to the Kong and part-time teaching
Oct - Part-time teaching
Nov - PT, PPT, FT teaching and the Move
Dec - a gastronomical delight

Okay, looking back it has been quite a memorable year. Work-wise - teaching agrees with me and I've come to the conclusion that this is what I want to do. It's only taken me about a decade to figure it out but I'm glad I don't have to think about it anymore and concentrate on other aspects of my life that need fixing. Like... what? I know what you're thinking. If my occupation took me a decade to figure out then matters of the heart will take at least another five-ten years to work itself out. Nope, still not clucky and still not desperate enough to want a mail order husband from Australia/New Zealand. Although, we all need someone to kiss us goodbye. I knew there was a reason why I bought that book.

At least 20 years ago, I figured out what kind of person I wanted to be. I wonder if that saved me any time at all?

Three continents and four countries in the last 12 months. Not a bad effort at all. Shall try to aim for at least three countries next year but it's a bit hard with teaching now.
I'll do my "Best of 2007" in my next post.

Hi Wilda

I hope you got my email the other day. Thank you for the beautiful book! I'm glad you like teaching so much.

Cheers

Have you ditched your blog and gone completely over to facebook?

No exactly. It's partly laziness and partly recharging my creative juices.
