This was in the South China Morning Post today. On the front page they also had shots of people crying - can you believe it? I mean really. There are plenty of other things one can cry about but over this? Our marketing staff said most people were crying over how much they had paid for the tickets to see him hurdle and now they saw nothing because he withdrew. Although, I wouldn't be crying. I would be angry. There is always an anti-climax.

The Chinese government allocated 1356 especially for him to use in the Olympics - 1.3 million people and 56 minority groups.
Now if that's not carrying the nation's hopes and dreams on your back I don't know what is.
Funnily enough, if you say the numbers in Chinese twisting the sounds a little it means 'In one's life there is no road to go'.
It's a very ironic twist of fate.
