Arms crossed

Who on earth thought having someone cross their arms for a photo would make that person look cool? All I can say is that anyone with their arms crossed for a photo makes them look like a super wanker. I went to HKU today and on the pull up banners were five guys in black suits all with their arms crossed. To imitate those King's Glory tutors on the back of buses with big hair and photoshopped blemish-free white complexions no doubt.

The last portrait I took for my publication, the subject, a male, started crossing his arms. I asked - What are you doing? No! Arms down please. Is it instinctive that professionals think they look professional if they cross their arms? There will be no wankers in my publication. I blame the billboards and the ads on the back of buses for brainwashing professionals that this what they are suppose to do when posing for a photo.

Everyone knows crossed arms means being defensive, cautious or cold in body language. Since when did it mean intelligence, being professional and exuding confidence? Shouldn't your hands be on your hips instead?

You see my point?
